Anthony Harper and Everybody Eats
Everybody Eats is a not-for-profit 'pay as you feel' dining concept that aims to reduce food waste and food poverty. The pop-up restaurant rescues perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste or a landfill and turns it into restaurant quality meals, using volunteer chefs and wait staff.
Around 2/3 of the restaurants guests are homeless or suffer from food poverty and cannot afford to pay.
Anthony Harper is the exclusive legal services provider and is providing pro bono legal services and hands on volunteer work from our staff, to assist this unique cause.
Every Monday, Nick Loosley, Everybody Eats founder, and his team of volunteers serve upwards of 200 people. Our volunteers helped wait tables, wash up, seat guests and serve water.
"The experience was equal parts fun, rewarding and humbling", said Vaash Singh. "As I rushed to sit and serve my tables their meal, a wholesome portion of pumpkin soup, sausage, mash and onion gravy, and a huge slab of chocolate cake, I found myself chatting and making a real connection with people I would normally not have had a chance to meet".
"I was doubtful of my waitressing abilities but I ended up having a great time! Nick and his team were incredibly organised, and I found the evening to be a rewarding and humbling experience. I'm looking forward to volunteering again," said Helen Chen.
Anthony Harper and the Pop-up Globe
The Pop-up Globe and Anthony Harper believe that successful collaborations are those where there's an alignment of values between the parties – not one that is all about the money. A close relationship developed, based on mutual respect and a confidence that we were both supportive of each other.
Anthony Harper was delighted to help to bring the magic of the Pop-up Globe to our clients, contacts, team and the world - and proof positive, if any was needed, that together the arts and businesses can forge a positive alliance. An alliance that benefits all. Since the start of our relationship over 300,000 people have attended performances sponsored by us at the Pop-up Globe.
In 2018, this collaboration produced the Pop-up Moot. A fabulous collaboration between the Pop-up Globe, Anthony Harper and the Auckland Law School that mixed drama, debate and the law is a fun and imaginative way. The event was a huge success for all parties – promoting the theatre, promoting Anthony Harper and promoting the law school as providing first class opportunities to its students. The Pop-up Moot will return, bigger and better in March 2019.
Anthony Harper and the Christchurch Summer Theatre
For over 20 years' Anthony Harper has supported and sponsored the Council's summer theatre. This free community event forms an integral part of the Council's SummerTimes activities. The 20 free programmed evening regularly attract a crowd of over 10,000. This year we engaged with NZME and gave away over 600 'golden tickets' to community groups targeting schools and charities to attend a special red carpet performance.
Over the years, over 500,000 people in New Zealand have watched a performance (both at the Pop-up Globe and the Christchurch Summer Theatre) sponsored by Anthony Harper. We are tremendously proud of our support to the arts.
